Formerly an instructor of public relations in the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication (1986-2019) and currently a public relations consultant and blogger for Gonzo PR, John Charles Mitchell, APR, Fellow PRSA retired in 2008 after nearly 24 years in public relations at Eugene Water & Electric Board. Prior to EWEB: public relations director at McKenzie-Willamette Hospital in Springfield; writer/editor for the U.S. Forest Service in Seattle, Washington; and reporter, photojournalist and editor for several daily and weekly newspapers in the Northwest. Undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Oregon in 1976; completed graduate studies in journalism from the UO and marketing communications from Washington State University.
