For the second straight year, we embarked on a grand tour
of the State of Washington to visit friends and family prior to the holidays.
This year, however, the weather patterns delivered a decidedly wintry mix along most of the circuit, which included the Columbia River Gorge,
Tri-Cities, Leavenworth and Seattle.
The premature winter provided a
festive coat of snow and ice prior to Christmas, and groomers in Plain, Washington were busy preparing the cross-country
trails. At our place in Shugart Flats, the icicles came ready at hand for limoncellos as we
huddled near the fire during cocktail hour. Happy holidays to one and all!
