The reunion marking the 50th anniversary of The
Wilderness Act of 1964 actually began the day before the hike with a party hosted
by Chuck and Jackie Ferguson on Sunday, August 17. Besides those who ventured to
Spider Meadows, many more from our group joined us in Leavenworth, Washington for
the celebration.
Tip of the fedora to
Heather Murphy, who provided communications support and encouragement, Frank Stevens
for nurturing the idea of a reunion hike, Doug Baldwin and Connie Cook for coordinating
the packer, and all who ventured to Washington from near and far for a summit meeting
of the Aldo Leopold Society. What a hoot!
