Hotel Axel Barcelona

My hotel in Spain, the Hotel Axel Barcelona, is described in Lonely Planet as a “fashion- and gay-friendly hotel” centrally located in the heart of the city. In reality, the hotel is a LGBT facility that advertises itself as “hetero friendly.” Macht nichts, either way: it was a four-star hotel, with wonderful amenities, including cooling and roof-top bar.

The Hotel Axel Barcelona is located close to everything worth seeing in the city, including Gaudi’s La Sagrada Familia and Casa Batllo, the Anelia Olimpica, Torre Agbar, the piers at Barcelona de Mar and, perhaps most importantly, the tour operators. Hearty tip of the sombrero to the hotel staff; all were most helpful and friendly.
